Privacy Policy
What Camgomeet collects when you video chat, why we keep it, who helps us process it, and how to ask for a copy or deletion of your account data.
Who this policy covers
This policy explains how the team behind Camgomeet (camgomeet.me) handles information when you visit the site, start a random 1v1 video match, place a call, send a message or buy coins. It applies to the website and to the home-screen version you can pin from your browser, since both are the same service.
Camgomeet is only for people who are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger, and if we learn that an account belongs to a minor we close it and remove its data.
Information we collect
Account and guest identifiers. When you open Camgomeet without signing up, a guest session is created so the site can remember you between pages. If you create an account or log in, we store your login details, the name and profile details you choose to add, and any photos or short videos you upload to your profile.
Device and browser information. Browser type and version, operating system, screen size, language setting and similar technical details that your browser sends with every request.
Approximate location. We derive your country from your IP address. We do not ask for or collect precise GPS location.
Usage and call metadata. Which pages you open, when a match or call starts and ends, who it was with, call length, follows, reports you make or receive, and coin balance changes. This is information about calls, not a recording of them.
Messages. The private text messages you send and receive are stored so both people can see the conversation history.
Payment records. When you buy coins, the payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We receive a confirmation, the amount, the time and a reference number. We do not store your full card number.
Why we use it
We use this information to run the service: connecting you to a match, keeping your call quality stable, showing your messages and call history, crediting coins to your wallet and keeping your settings in place across devices.
We also use it to keep people safe. Reports, call metadata and account history help us review complaints, spot spam or scam patterns and enforce our community guidelines. Finally, we look at aggregated usage (for example, which pages load slowly) to fix bugs and improve the product.
Camera and microphone
Your browser asks for permission before Camgomeet can use your camera or microphone, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in your browser settings. During a call you can turn your camera off, switch between front and back camera, or mute yourself.
The live video and audio stream is sent to the other person so the call can happen. We do not offer a recording feature, but we cannot technically stop another person from filming their own screen, so think about what you show on camera. Our safety tips go into this in more detail.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and browser local storage to keep your session active, remember preferences such as language, and measure how the site is used. Analytics are provided by Google Analytics, which receives pseudonymous usage data such as page views and device type. The full list of what we store in your browser, and how to clear it, is in our cookie policy.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
With the person you are talking to, to the extent needed for the conversation: your profile name, photos, the live stream and the messages you send.
With service providers who help us operate Camgomeet, such as hosting, video delivery, analytics and payment processing. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
When the law requires it, or when we believe disclosure is needed to protect someone from serious harm, to investigate fraud, or to defend the rights of our users and the service.
How long your data stays with us
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Messages, call history and coin records are kept while the account exists so you can see them. Guest session data that is not linked to an account is cleared after a period of inactivity. Reports and enforcement records may be kept longer when needed to stop banned users from returning or to deal with a safety issue. Payment records are kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, remove photos and videos, and change camera or microphone permissions whenever you like. You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser.
To ask for a copy of your data, request a correction, or delete your account and the data linked to it, email [email protected] from the address on your account, or tell us your account name so we can confirm it is you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law, and we will respond to requests in line with those rules. Details on reaching us are on the contact page.
Security and changes to this policy
Connections to camgomeet.me use HTTPS, and access to stored data is limited to the people and systems that need it. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a unique password and never share login codes with anyone.
We may update this policy when the product changes. When we make a meaningful change, we will update this page and, where appropriate, show a notice on the site. Continuing to use Camgomeet after a change means the updated policy applies.
